Why should I sweat?

Each day we are exposed to hundreds of chemicals in the air we breathe, the things we touch, the products we put on our skin, and the food we eat and drink. Not all chemicals can be processed by the body adequately, nor can an endless amount or number of them be handled at the same time. Some are even poisonous to the point of damaging critical parts that are supposed to detoxify our bodies, like liver enzymes. By coming to 3 Degrees each week our infrared saunas are able to help your body get rid of these destructive toxins.

What is the difference between infrared and traditional saunas?

Infrared heat is a soothing and gentle way to heat the body. Traditional saunas operate in excess of 180 degrees F making the experience extremely hot and claustrophobic. Infrared saunas have the benefit of being effective at a much more comfortable and tolerable temperature between 125 degrees to 158 degrees F.

Traditional saunas only heat the air around you whereas infrared saunas penetrate your skin giving you a deep detoxifying sweat. Because infrared heat penetrates deep into tissues versus just the skin’s surface infrared is 7 times more effective than traditional saunas at detoxifying the body. By raising the body’s core temperature by 3 Degrees, infrared saunas can produce a sweat composed of 20% toxins verse the 3% with a traditional sauna.

Do you sell gift cards?

Yes! Give the gift of health and wellness with a gift card to 3 Degrees. You can purchase a gift card online through our mindbody store by clicking here to purchase or you can also stop into any of our studios and purchase in person.

What should I wear?

Some individuals prefer to sweat with little to no clothing, However, it is safe to use the sauna in a bathing suit or workout attire. We provide a wrap and there are extra towels provided for your session. We do require that you have at least one towel between you and the sauna bench while you sauna. After your session, your cool-down period may involve some residual sweating.

How often should I come?

The more the better! Based on your individual health and wellness goals, we recommend at least two times a week. For greater impact, 3-4 times a week is recommended. WE suggest you try sessions immediately following a workout /fitness program to see the best results.

Will I be losing water weight?

Yes, which will be regained upon hydration, but the calories burned are real. As you relax in the gentle heat of our saunas, your body is actually hard at work pumping blood (increased heart rate), increasing circulation, and producing sweat to cool you down. This results in a caloric burn.

Is it true I'm still burning calories after my session?

Yes! By increasing your heart rate and core body temperature by 3 Degrees in your session, it could take up to an hour to return to normal which allows you to continue to burn calories.

Do you have showers/changing rooms?

The private sauna suite is your personal changing room. We do not offer showers, as it is recommended to let the body cool down and pores close for at least 30 minutes after the session before showering. It is likely that you will continue to sweat and detox for up to 30 minutes after your session. We also provide a eucalyptus-infused cold towel to use after your session to cool down.

Can I get a tan?

No, although the infrared band of light is found in sunlight, it does not cause you to tan or any premature aging of your skin because there is no UV light.

Does the sauna contain EMF?
